“This photographic reference belongs on the bookshelf of every photographer, photo journalist, picture editor, and journalism student who hopes to work more effectively with words and pictures.”
— Cleveland Press

“. . . . should be required reading for anyone contemplating or recently entering this field. . . If you want to know what photojournalism is about, get this book.”
— San Diego Union

“...for the aspiring photojournalist... it can teach a lot of old-timers a few new tricks.”
— American Photo

“Previous texts felt both cursory and outdated. The detail in your book is great, as are all the visuals, which are going to keep the kids tuned in, and I think the choice to lead with Regina on storytelling is inspired. Because, I think all of us teaching this stuff agree, that's what this is about -- finding and telling good stories in a range of media.”
— Jeff Howe, assistant professor, Northeastern University, and former editor of Wired magazine
